GPS systems have really matured. GPS is integrated in all sorts of technology these days and even come as part of many of the latest cellphones.

The real time units are what we use on a day to day basis. A system that gives you feedback as it occurs letting us know where we are, where we are going, traffic data etc.

Another type is a tracking device you can install on an automobile. As the name implies these are installed to track data about a given vehicle, whether it’s location, speed, direction etc. These vehicle tracking systems can come in handy for companies that rely on their vehicles, such as trucking or delivery companies, as it allows them to track the vehicles and also get historical data to compare against.

It can be also used against car theft. Law enforcement agency work with various companies manufacturing these devices and can track vehicles down just about anywhere. These systems are easily installed and if your car is stolen can be a God sent. If you are buying a car it behooves you to invest in one in the event your car gets stolen.
